Rent held in escrow.
Released on schedule.
Frozen on dispute.

No bank, no lawyer, no trust required. RentPact protects tenants and landlords with a USDC escrow contract that pays out on the schedule you agree to — monthly, quarterly, yearly, even daily or hourly.

In Lagos, you pay 1–2 years of rent upfront.

Then the landlord disappears. The repairs never come.

Your caution fee? Gone. It always is.

No escrow. No evidence. No recourse.

RentPact

Escrow, not hope

The full lease amount sits in a smart contract from day one. No landlord ever touches it directly.

Evidence, not argument

Baseline photos are hashed at move-in. Every dispute is judged against a real, timestamped record.

Automatic returns

The caution fee returns to the tenant in 7 days automatically, unless a claim with photo evidence is filed.

Every lease, on the schedule you set

How it works

Every lease follows the same protected path

  • Deposit into escrow

The tenant deposits the full lease amount in USDC — once, up front — into a smart contract. No landlord ever touches it directly.

  • Landlord signs

The landlord countersigns on-chain, starting the release schedule you both agreed on.

  • Rent releases on schedule

Each period, the agreed amount flows to the landlord automatically — monthly, quarterly, yearly, even daily or hourly.

  • Frozen on dispute

If something goes wrong, either side can freeze the next release with one on-chain action, backed by photo evidence.

  • Caution fee returns

At move-out, the caution fee returns to the tenant automatically within 7 days, unless a documented claim is filed.

New to escrow rent?

A few things worth knowing

What is escrow, really?

Escrow means the money isn't with the landlord and isn't with the tenant — it sits in a smart contract that only releases funds when the agreed conditions are met.

A real dashboard, not a promise

Every tenant sees exactly where their money is — released, upcoming, or frozen — the moment they log in.
